Our Story

Every family has stories worth telling.

Ours began over a decade ago with a little red Jeep.

Ten years ago, We would take our grandchildren for rides in our little red Jeep. Those rides sparked laughter, adventure, and memories. Wanting to preserve those moments, Tony wrote TJ the Little Red Jeep, a story inspired by those special adventures.

At the time, we had no idea it was the beginning of something much bigger.

Fast forward ten years.

Our Tyler & Lindsey surprised us with the exciting news that they were starting their family. They're adventurers at heart, we didn’t expect sweet Benny to come along and this unexpected gift inspired Tony to write Benny the Little Bunny. Rachel brought Benny's world to life through illustrations, turning another family memory into a story that could be shared for years to come.

That's when we realized something.

Every child in our family has a story to tell.

Each has their own personality, imagination, adventures, and the unique qualities that make them who they are. We wanted to celebrate those moments, not just for our own family, but for families everywhere.

That's how Southern Pines Books was born.

Today, every Southern Pines Book is inspired by the little people who have filled our lives with laughter, curiosity, and unconditional love. While our grandchildren inspired the first stories, our hope is that every child who opens one of our books will see themselves in the adventure, feel encouraged by the message, and create memories with the people reading beside them.

Because we believe the best children's books don't just tell stories.

They become part of a family's story.
